When choosing home furnishings, the bathroom is one of the rooms, if not the room, that requires the most care in selecting the elements. An intimate and private space par excellence, the bathroom is the room in the home where design, elegance, quality and functionality find their maximum expression. And when these characteristics are mentioned, the keyword is: stainless steel.
Read the article and discover why the best bathroom taps are made of stainless steel.
Before focusing on the best bathroom taps, it is useful to understand what AISI316L stainless steel is and why it is such a valuable ally for your bathroom.
AISI316L stainless steel is a high-quality material with outstanding technical and aesthetic characteristics, including durability and heat resistance. Steel is a biologically neutral, hygienic, completely non-toxic and antibacterial material that is environmentally friendly, recyclable and easy to clean.
Last but not least, it has considerable aesthetic value thanks to the possibility of customising it with elegant finishes that can be applied across its surface.
The presence of molybdenum also gives it high corrosion resistance, making it the ideal material for products that are in constant contact with water.

Brass remains one of the most widely used materials for bathroom taps today, mainly because it is easy to produce. Being an alloy obtained from copper, it can be easily thermoformed. However, this production process makes taps made from this material less resistant to wear and tear, less compact and more delicate: in fact, once brass has been damaged by time, it is almost impossible to repair it and restore its original appearance.
A brass bathroom tap is therefore easily recognisable thanks to its refined shapes and chrome surface. Its ease of manufacture allows architects and interior designers to create products that are always tailor-made and highly customisable, at the expense of durability. Thermoforming is a hot working process that allows materials to be moulded into specific shapes established during the design phase.
The biggest disadvantage of brass, however, is closely linked to the fact that it requires a chrome coating, a non-recyclable material whose manufacture is highly polluting.
Stainless steel, on the other hand, given its more complex processing, has a more minimalist design, with artisanal features and clean shapes with a satin finish. Being an alloy of iron and carbon, its resistance makes it highly valued in virtually all types of bathrooms. Highly resistant to corrosion, its original style can be easily revitalised with satin finishing or polishing treatments.

We would like to dedicate a separate paragraph to what is the strength of stainless steel that Super Inox is most closely associated with: its total non-toxicity.
But what is the reason for this characteristic, which is fundamental for us?
Precisely because of its production method, which allows for the complete avoidance of lead and external chrome plating. Its natural resistance, combined with the polishing and satin finishing treatments, make stainless steel taps by far the most suitable for everyday use in our bathrooms.
Super Inox has found in steel a solid and resistant foundation on which to base its business.
A combination of technology, functionality and reliability, the bathroom tap collections stand out on the market for their refined proportions and sinuous balance between comfort and aesthetics. Entirely Made in Italy at our headquarters just a stone’s throw from Lake Maggiore, we treat each of our taps as a unique piece of craftsmanship.
